Wallpaper & Wall Mural Frequently Asked Questions
Wallpaper Materials
Which wallpaper material should I choose?
- Peel & Stick Fabric: Soft matte textile finish for clean, smooth walls.
- Peel & Stick Vinyl: Stronger self-adhesion and a wider panel option for smooth walls.
- Textured Vinyl: Paste-applied wallpaper with a subtle texture and durable surface.
- Non-Woven (Traditional): Paste-applied wallpaper with a smooth matte finish.
What is the difference between Textured Vinyl and Non-Woven?
Textured Vinyl has a subtle surface texture, a more substantial feel and greater resistance to gentle cleaning. Non-Woven has a smooth, matte, low-reflection finish. Both options require wallpaper paste and are installed in edge-to-edge panels.
What is the difference between Peel & Stick Fabric and Peel & Stick Vinyl?
Peel & Stick Fabric has a softer, matte textile appearance. Peel & Stick Vinyl has a richer vinyl surface and stronger adhesion. Peel & Stick Vinyl is also available in a wider 53.9-inch panel format. Both require a clean, dry and completely smooth wall.
Is the mural really embossed or three-dimensional?
No. “3D wall mural” describes the optical depth created by the artwork. Printed stones, arches, flowers or other objects are not physically raised. Textured Vinyl has a subtle, even surface texture, but the printed objects are not real reliefs.
Which material is best for a textured wall?
Peel-and-stick materials are not recommended for textured or rough walls. On a lightly textured wall, a paste-applied material such as Non-Woven or Textured Vinyl is generally the better choice after the surface has been properly prepared. Prominent texture should be sanded and, if needed, skim-coated before installation.
Custom Size and Artwork
Is my mural made to the exact wall size I enter?
Yes. Each mural is produced to the width and height entered with your order. We recommend measuring the wall in several places and using the largest width and height. Add 1–2 inches to the total size as a trimming margin.
Will the image be scaled or cropped?
The artwork is adjusted to match your wall's width-to-height ratio. If the wall and artwork have different proportions, some controlled cropping or image extension may be required. We aim to preserve the important parts of the design. If a person, animal, text or object must remain visible, tell us in your order notes.
How many panels will my mural have?
Panel count depends on the wall width and selected material. Standard production widths are approximately 41.7, 42.1 and 43.3 inches. Peel & Stick Vinyl is also available in a wider 53.9-inch option. The panels are numbered and form the complete image when installed edge to edge.
Can I order a mural using my own photo or artwork?
Yes. You can upload your own photograph, illustration or finished artwork for a custom-size mural. Image quality is checked in relation to the requested print size. Very small or heavily compressed images may lose detail when enlarged.
How do I know whether my image resolution is sufficient?
Suitability depends on pixel dimensions, sharpness, compression and final wall size—not file size alone. Send us the original file together with the required width and height, and we can check it before production.
Is there a minimum order size?
Yes. The minimum order is 32 square feet. Orders below this area are calculated at the 32-square-foot minimum.
Wall Preparation and Installation
How should I prepare the wall?
The surface must be clean, dry, solid, smooth and free from dust, grease and silicone residue. Repair holes and cracks, remove loose paint and sand prominent bumps. Do not install wallpaper over unresolved dampness, mold or peeling paint.
Are the panels overlapped?
No. MuralsAll panels are installed side by side with an edge-to-edge seam. They are not overlapped. Draw a straight vertical reference line before installing the first panel and check pattern continuity at every seam.
Is wallpaper paste included?
The required number of paste packs is included with Textured Vinyl and Non-Woven orders. Peel & Stick Fabric and Peel & Stick Vinyl do not require additional paste.
Can I install the mural myself?
Yes, provided the wall is properly prepared and the instructions are followed carefully. A second person is helpful for tall or wide panels. Before installation, unroll and inspect the complete order, confirm the panel sequence and identify the starting point.
How long should I wait after painting the wall?
The paint must cure fully, not merely feel dry to the touch. For peel-and-stick materials, wait at least 3–4 weeks. If the paint manufacturer specifies a longer curing period, follow that guidance.
Can wallpaper be installed over satin or glossy paint?
It may be installed if the paint is firmly bonded to the wall. Lightly sanding a glossy surface can improve adhesion. Remove any paint that is loose, peeling, dusty or poorly bonded before installation.
Cleaning, Care and Removal
Can the wallpaper be cleaned?
Light dust and marks may be gently cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive sponges, stiff brushes, harsh chemicals or excessive water. Test first in a small, inconspicuous area. Textured Vinyl is generally the easiest option to clean gently.
Will removing the wallpaper damage the paint?
The result depends on wall preparation, primer, paint quality, curing time and material type. Paste-applied wallpaper can generally be removed more controllably from a properly prepared wall. Self-adhesive materials may lift weak or poorly cured paint. No material can be guaranteed to leave every painted surface completely unchanged.
Can I replace only one damaged panel?
A replacement panel may be possible depending on the order record and availability of the production file. Contact us as soon as possible. Very small color differences can occur between separate print runs made at different times.
How long will a wall mural last?
Service life depends on the material, wall condition, installation quality, humidity, temperature, direct sunlight and cleaning method. A mural installed correctly on a suitable indoor wall can remain attractive for many years.
Orders, Shipping and Returns
When will my order be produced and shipped?
Production time may vary depending on order volume, material and whether artwork approval is required. Your order confirmation and shipping information provide the most relevant timing. Carrier transit times are estimates and may be affected by destination, customs and seasonal volume.
Can I change the measurements after ordering?
If production has not started, a measurement change may be possible. Once custom production begins, the size and artwork cannot be changed. Contact us immediately if you notice an error in your order details.
Can a custom-size mural be returned or exchanged?
Each mural is made specifically to the measurements submitted with the order, so custom-size products are not eligible for standard returns or exchanges. This does not affect assistance for verified production defects, incorrect items or damage covered by the applicable order policy.
What should I do if the order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Inspect all panels before cutting or installation. If you find a printing issue, missing panel, incorrect size or shipping damage, photograph the product and packaging and contact us with your order number. Do not install or discard the product before the review is completed.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. MuralsAll ships to many countries. Delivery time and shipping cost depend on destination, package size and carrier service. Import taxes, duties or local handling charges may apply depending on the destination country's rules.
Is online payment secure?
Payment information is transmitted through an encrypted connection and processed by the secure payment provider. MuralsAll does not store your full card information. Additional bank verification may be requested where supported.
Send us your wall width and height, a photo of the surface and the material you are considering. We will be happy to help.
